Allsup Employment Services

Allsup Employment Services (AES) is a Social Security Administration (SSA)-authorized Employment Network that provides free services to help Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients in the Metrocrest area and nationwide return to work through the Ticket to Work program. AES offers career counseling, resume assistance, job search support, and guidance on protecting SSDI benefits and Medicare coverage during employment. They assist with completing Individualized Work Plans, filing SSA forms, and tracking earnings to maintain benefit eligibility, including during the 9-month Trial Work Period. Services are at no cost, funded by federal funds, and include ongoing support for up to 7 years.

Metrocrest Services

Metrocrest Services offers free employment and workforce development support for residents of Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch, and Dallas (ZIP 75287). Services include one-on-one employment coaching, resume writing, interview skills training, job search strategies, and access to a computer lab with internet, resume software, and training for those with limited computer experience. They also provide job leads, bus vouchers or gas cards for job seekers, and financial assistance for certifications (two years or less) through programs like Competitive Edge, Work It with Metrocrest Services Facebook Group, and Opportunity One (online training for skills like Microsoft Office).

Workforce Solutions

Workforce Solutions is a nonprofit overseen by the Texas Workforce Commission with offices across 14 counties. WSNCT offers free job search and career support for residents of the Metrocrest area and nearby areas. Services include job listings, resume help, interview prep, career counseling, computer access, and training programs. Low-income families may qualify for childcare or transportation assistance. Youth programs (ages 16–24) offer career exploration.

U and I Spread the Light

U&I Spread the Light

U&I Spread The Light is a nonprofit workforce development center based in Dallas, TX. It empowers individuals with intellectual, physical, and mental health disabilities through free vocational training, job readiness programs, paid work opportunities, and job placement services. In FY2022, U&I served nearly 1,000 clients, providing skills training, community employment for 191 individuals, and transportation access for 249 veterans and disabled adults, generating $5.9 million in client earnings. Their Work Center Program offers on-site vocational training (e.g., assembly, packaging), while the Employment Placement Program connects pre-screened candidates with employers. U&I also provides life skills training, diversity and inclusion awareness, and veteran-specific programs, aiming to end exclusion for people with disabilities by 2051.
