Dallas CASA

CASA was founded in 1977, when a Seattle superior court judge, amidst an overwhelmed child welfare system, grew concerned about making decisions on behalf of abused and neglected children in his court without enough information. He felt that more individualized attention and time for gathering important facts would produce better outcomes for the children. He decided to appoint community volunteers to work on behalf of the children in his court.

Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center

Dallas Children’s Advocacy is one of the first advocacy centers to be established in Texas which now has over 70 centers of varying sizes and scopes of services. DCAC opened its doors on January 14, 1991 and served 725 alleged child abuse victims from our first location, a renovated three story Victorian home on historic Swiss Avenue. In January 2013, we moved to a state-of-the-art 56,000 square foot facility following an $11 million capital campaign.
