Community Foundations

Since 1953, Communities Foundation of Texas as worked side by side with caring donors, committed nonprofits, philanthropy-focused businesses, and civic leaders to help build thriving communities for all. CFT offers a universal application portal for numerous scholarships, with awards ranging from $500 to $20,000, targeting students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including Metrocrest communities. Scholarships may focus on specific demographics, such as minority or first-generation students, or fields like STEM and education. Eligibility varies by scholarship but often includes criteria like financial need, GPA, community involvement, or residency in Dallas County. Some scholarships prioritize North Texas students.

Dallas County Promise

Dallas County Promise is a last-dollar scholarship program covering tuition not met by other grants or scholarships for graduates of participating Dallas County high schools, including those in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and Coppell ISD. Eligibility generally covers High school seniors from 57 participating Dallas County high schools, including Metrocrest-area schools, with financial need.

My Texas Future (www.mytexasfuture.org) is an online portal launched by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to assist Texans, particularly adult learners, high school students, and returning students, in planning their education and career paths. It provides tools and resources to explore college programs, career options, and financial aid, aiming to help users identify affordable, high-demand career paths with low or no debt.

Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD

Tarrant County Scholarship

The Tarrant County College Foundation accepts and manages gifts from individuals, companies, trusts and foundations for the benefit of Tarrant County College.  TCC, accessible to Metrocrest residents, offers general and academic program-specific scholarships, including the TCC Book Scholarship ($400/semester) and Tarrant To and Through (T3) scholarships for students pursuing two-year degrees.
