My Texas Future
My Texas Future (www.mytexasfuture.org) is an online portal launched by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to assist Texans, particularly adult learners, high school students, and returning students, in planning their education and career paths. - Direct Admissions: Texas high school seniors can see which colleges will accept them based on academic records (e.g., GPA, class rank) before applying, reducing application stress.
- ApplyTexas Integration: Syncs with ApplyTexas to streamline college applications for Texas public universities and community colleges, including Dallas College and Collin College.
- Financial Aid Guidance: Offers resources on paying for college, including FAFSA/TASFA instructions, scholarships, grants (e.g., TEOG, TPEG), and employer benefits.
- Personalized Support: Connects users to institutional advisors at partner colleges for tailored guidance (available at 20 participating institutions).
- Additional Tools: Includes a Career Interest Quiz, college credit transfer options, Academic Fresh Start for clearing past academic records, and data on program costs and earnings potential.
Launched in August 2023, My Texas Future supports Texas’ goal of 60% of working-age adults earning a degree or credential by 2030. It consolidates content from the former College for All Texans site and is tailored for busy Texans, including veterans and displaced workers, with plans to expand for middle and high school students.
